Horizon Teachers are working with a school in London who are seeking a History Teacher to join their growing humanities department.

Teaching at this school you will lead students primarily at the KS3/4 level, be part of an active teaching community who are focused on helping students obtain the highest grades possible, as well as engaging students in an active and efficient learning environment. At this school, learning and grades are built from a foundation of valuing respect and encouraging extensive use of the access to extra-curriculum activities.

The history curriculum includes both classroom work and fieldwork, adding to the students learning experience and enhancing their range of skills. As a teacher in this History department you will be part of a pastoral team aiming to guide the students through their time at school and give advice and help where necessary.

Experience as a teacher is beneficial but NQT’s are also welcome. Any teacher with the drive and willingness to add to a school outside the classroom will be valued highly.

Horizon teachers is currently working with a well-known secondary school based in the borough of Enfield who are looking for a dynamic teacher of History to join their successful staffing team. The school have high expectation and want their students to have high aspirations and to be the best they can be, They encourage their students to develop independent learning skills that will enable them to be successful in school, university and work, their behaviour policy sets out their expectations and has a structured system of rewards and sanctions ensuring that all students can learn in a safe environment without disruption. The school would ideally like a teacher who has experience of teaching History to KS5 although experience up to KS4 will always be considered. Their lessons are planned carefully to take into account the strengths and the developmental areas of every student in order to enable them to progress in each subject, in addition to the assessment for learning that takes place in class, they report formally to parents and carers throughout the year, the report contains information about progress and attainment in every subject as well as important learning information such as attendance, home learning, effort and next steps.
