A top secondary academy situated in Southwark is looking to recruit a well-qualified History Teacher to become a member of this excellent school. This exciting role will start immediately.

The successful candidate will be joining a successful History department in an Ofsted graded ‘Outstanding’ school. The school are looking for a History teacher to be committed to the development of high quality teaching practices and high standards of achievement. You would be required to teach History to A-level.

The History department aim to inspire and enable all our students to become successful learners and this is a wonderful opportunity to join a hard-working and motivated team. This vacancy is suited to more experienced teachers however the school welcome applications from NQT’s. This is a temporary role with the potential for a permanent position to be offered for the right candidate. The school are looking to interview immediately.

If interested in this role you must have the following:

- Qualified teacher status (QTS) or oversea trained.

- PGCE in History

- A track record of outstanding teaching across all Key Stages including A-level

- The ability and enthusiasm to motivate students and staff in delivering outstanding History lessons across the school

- The ability to raise expectations and aspirations of students of all abilities

- Proven track record of raising attainment and keeping standards high

Teaching at this school you will lead students primarily at the KS3/4 level, be part of an active teaching community who are focused on helping students obtain the highest grades possible, as well as engaging students in an active and efficient learning environment. Head of History

£29,664 - £48,244 per annum
Head of History Teacher Location- Croydon Mixed Secondary School, ages 11-18. Main/Upper pay scale plus TLR for suitable candidates. Immediate start. Permanent, full-time role.   Horizon Teachers are working with a great school in Croydon, who need a Teacher to be Head of Department for History. It will involve teaching students of all ages, and different abilities, creating a positive and enhanced learning environment. You will join this school in its journey towards becoming an Outstanding school, aiding the students in their path to success. As a head of department this role will also include managing pastoral care for your department, an area which the school are particularly interested in, as well as some extra-curricular activities and promotion of mutual respect and cultural awareness.
