This forward thinking and successful primary school based in Newham are looking to appoint a new Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join them after the February Half Term. The school are looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work within a Key Stage 2 setting, they need someone who is passionate about working with children as well as having strong behaviour management and the ability to encourage pupils. The planning and work preparation will be done beforehand by the teacher and your role will be to deliver the lesson to a particular group or class you're working with. The staff work closely together to ensure that as a team they do all they can to ensure pupils are reaching their full potential and those who need additional support are given just that. The existing staff are friendly and devoted therefore the school are looking of a similar nature to join the team.
The role is starting in February 2019, it will be full time with the hours of 8:30am to 4pm in term time, the role will continue until the end of the academic year however may carry on in September 2019 for the right person. You will be working throughout year 4, 5 and 6 classes and groups therefore it is important to be able to adapt to the particular year groups and individual needs of the pupils. Ideally the school want someone who has a degree or HLTA qualification, however if you have several years' experience of being a Teaching Assistant and consider yourself ready to take the next step in your career please apply.
The Ideal HLTA will have/be:
• Previous experience working within a Key Stage 2 setting
• A Degree/Higher Level Teaching Assistant Qualification (preferable but not essential)
• Creative, Enthusiastic and Ambitious
• Dedicated to Pupil Development
• Able to commit to the entire academic year
• Keen to get involved in all aspects of the school
• Have excellent communication skills
