Ofsted – Good

A ‘good´ mixed comprehensive school in Richmond are looking to recruit an experienced, qualified French and Spanish Teacher to join their successful team from January 2018.

Having received ‘good´ in their most recent Ofsted, it was stated that ‘achievement is good – the great majority of students make strong progress through both key stages. The percentage of students attaining five or more GCSE passes at Grade A* - C including Maths and English is consistently above average. Behaviour is good with the vast majority of students having positive attitudes towards learning and their behaviour in lessons and around the school is very orderly – they show respect and courtesy to others.’

Languages are a big focus within this school and students are encouraged to develop their skills by taking more than one. In Year 7 all pupils learn French and in Years 8 and 9 the majority of students take the option to study German as well. Students are encouraged to speak as much as possible in the target language during their lessons. The teaching is enhanced through use of games and interactive activities. Languages are a very popular choice at GCSE – students can continue to study French and German and are also able to take Spanish for GCSE and A-Level.

This school are looking to recruit an experienced, qualified French and Spanish Teacher. You will be required to teach French to KS4 and Spanish to KS5. You will be joining a large team of MFL Teachers, a team that work very closely together to ensure that their students are always put first. A number of trips overseas are organised throughout the year including Berlin, Madrid and Paris. The department has native language assistants who work with small groups of children helping them to further develop their language skills, and they also attend the overseas trips. The position is to start in January – July 2018.

If you would like to apply for this role, you must have the following:

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

- PGCE in French and/or Spanish
