Horizon Teachers is extremely proud to be working with the head teacher of this renowned, high profile, distinctive, mainstream secondary school in central South London.
We are seeking to help the school appoint a gifted English Teacher from January 2019. This would be a temporary position through until July 2019.
The Headteacher, senior leadership team and teaching staff have, over recent years, combined to foster a hugely positive learning and nurturing environment for its 1100 boys and girls, allowing them to consistently outperform their peers in other schools in the borough, and develop into positive role models full of ambition and enthusiasm for their future.
This school is fully inclusive, drawing its pupils from its local communities. Students learn the importance of hard work, good manners, smart appearance, courtesy, co-operation and service to others at all times, in addition to the a modern 21st century curriculum personalised to their needs.
The school does not believe in a one size fits all education and has designed a range of different curriculum pathways recognising that some students will flourish from undertaking a rigorous academic pathway whilst other students need a greater proportion of English lessons in order to enable them to access the curriculum and develop life skills.
While expectations are high at the school in all areas, the school retains a friendly, positive and social atmosphere. It also offers outstanding support and induction to NQTs, and excellent career progression to experienced teachers.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate consistent high-quality teaching, in-depth subject knowledge and a commitment to collaborative work. They will join an experienced department which benefits from having staff who have taught in a range of schools in London. Resources for all key stages are pre-planned and shared electronically; enabling staff time to differentiate resources for mixed-ability groups.
