A school in Tower Hamlets are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to join them full time, as soon as possible (September 2019).

The position will be working with vulnerable young people of a secondary age, the students have complex needs as the school caters for severe learning difficulties and profound and multiple learning difficulties. The school focus is on ensuring achievement through personal development, it is a very creative environment and therefore the school are looking for someone who is positive, forward thinking and passionate about working with special educational needs and disabilities.

The selected applicants will need to have previous SEND experience, especially PMLD and complex needs, however it is not essential that you have worked in a school environment. You will be working in a class of 5-6 pupils providing 1:1 support. Children are grouped based on ability, however there will be varying ages, with some students being non-verbal, therefore PECs and Makaton are desirable. There will also be personal care involved, so someone from a health and social care' background would be ideal. As well as supporting students academically, you will focus on well-being and social skills. Successful applicants will be caring, calm and pro-active!
