Early Years SEN Teacher

A Special Nursery based in Feltham for children with a range of severe and profound learning difficulties including those with an additional diagnosis of autism are seeking an SEN Teacher from September. The post is open to NQTs and Teachers with a mainstream background.

The School is an expanding school providing an exciting, innovative and personalised curriculum for all pupils across two sites. Each site is equipped with specialist support and facilities, appropriate to the age of the pupils. Classes are small and teaching staff work closely alongside support staff to meet the individual needs of our pupils

The Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team are looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic teacher with a real passion for, and commitment to, teaching children with complex learning needs and who has a track record for good to outstanding teaching.

The Primary School supports children 3 to 11 years old and there are currently 140 pupils on roll across both of the sites. The Schools KS2 classes will support the children to work to an adapted curriculum. This curriculum is designed to meet the learning needs of each pupil and will help develop progress in their communication, independence and key skills. The staff will also work together to provide a varied fun, stimulating, engaging and varied learning program which is entirely child focussed and creative, allowing the children to flourish and thrive in the school and develop their social skills and self behaviour management skills. The staff in the school are committed to give the children as many positive experiences as possible outside their classroom, and as part of their learning experience, KS2 pupils have the opportunity to visit a variety of local environments within the community, including participating in sporting and musical events. They visit the school allotment and use the local shops regularly to build their communication skills and independence skills. Due to the children's needs, the school will work in conjunction with occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and physiotherapists to integrate therapy into the pupils' learning and the school boasts from a huge array of facilities including sports hall, outside play areas, speech and language play rooms and multi sensory rooms. A Complex Needs School based in Barnet are currently looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team from January 2019. This is a Long term position which will continue until the end of the academic year and with a potential to become permanent.The SchoolThis is an all through school which provides places to Primary and Secondary age children between the ages of 3 and 18 years old. They are a Jewish faith school so all pupils are of the Jewish faith, although staff come from a range of cultures and beliefs. In the Secondary classes, boys and girls are taught separately. The classes are organised by age groups as well as by the severity of the children's needs. Pupils have a range of Special Educational Needs from Moderate to Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties.
