Horizon Teachers in partnership with a good friendly school in Barking are seeking to appoint an ambitious, highly effective and experienced Classroom Teacher of Drama to join our very successful, heavily over-subscribed school with an outstanding ethos where staff are supported to become the best.

As a teacher of Drama you will be required to teach Drama at KS3 as well as being responsible for teaching the popular and over subscribed GCSE course. The successful teacher must be dynamic, innovative and hardworking with a desire to positively impact upon students' learning and a firm commitment to high academic achievement. Above all the successful Drama teacher must be dedicated to giving all students an outstanding education.

The Performing Arts department is a very strong department. There is a great atmosphere and all teachers work well together and under the leadership of the head of department have seen results increase to above the national average. The focus on excellence is clear in every lesson and students take part in performances each term and the end of year production is a highlight of the year. Students experience Drama is a very creative environment with performance areas and dedicated Drama facilities. The scheme of work to be exciting and engaging. Students are taught in mixed ability groups at KS3, at KS4 Drama is a popular option and results are high.

Within the Drama department extra-curricular activities are seen as a vital learning tool. During Lunch times and after school clubs are run and participation levels are high.

The school would appoint a newly qualified UK trained teacher or a teacher with prior teaching experience.
