Business and Economics Teacher

Position: Business and Economics Teacher – Temporary to permanent

Start date: September 2017

Location: Southwark

Ofsted: Good (2015)

Age range: Key Stage 3/4 and Key stage 5

Type: 11-18 Comprehensive School with approx. 1600 students.

GCSE Results: 70% achieving 5+A*-C grades including Maths and Science

A ‘Good’ school requires a well-qualified and enthusiastic Teacher of Business and Economics for a vacancy to start in September 2017. The person appointed will be assisting the Head of Business/Economics in delivering the curriculum to Key Stage 4 and Key stage 5.

The school is a thriving, vibrant and caring community within which pupils are stretched intellectually and which fosters a love of learning, whilst feeling valued, happy and safe. The progress within the school has been significant and now has to drive the teaching and learning to become outstanding. The successful applicant will be an excellent teacher, have experience of working with both KS4 and KS5 and have a genuine passion and belief in the potential for every pupil. The successful candidate will have a proactive teaching style, use technology in your planning and delivery where applicable. You will be able to deliver engaging and interactive lessons, be an exceptional communicator and have a track record of exceptional achievement, whether that is from previous positions or during training and qualification. You will need to hold an enhanced DBS dated less than 3 years.

If interested in this role you must have the following:

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be Overseas Trained Teacher

- PGCE in Business & Economics or degree level equivalent

- Extensive experience teaching KS4 & KS5

- Good behaviour management and subject knowledge

- Proven track record of raising attainment and keeping standards high
