Required for September 2018, A Teacher of Business and Economics to join a large Outstanding Academy in South London. This is a permanent teaching position to teach Business and Economics at KS4 and 5. The successful teacher will be teaching both Business and Economics and have GCSE and A Level lessons.

The School:
The school is a large mixed academy located in the borough of Merton, with excellent community links and easily accessible by Public transport and road. Attainment at the school is good with students attainment 8 score at the borough average. Students attend and behaviour is good. Teachers work well together and drive standards as set by the head teacher.

The Role:
The successful teacher will be teaching Business and Economics at KS4 and 5. For teachers with a specialist subject in one there is the possibility of adjusting the timetable to suit. Within Business and Economics the popular A GCSE and A Level course are oversubscribed and next year will see full classes again. The department are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic teacher who is able to uphold the high standards and achieve excellent results with all classes. This position would suit an experienced teacher of recently qualified teacher. All teachers are supported and for NQTs there is an excellent induction programme in place.

If you are interested in this role you must have the following:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) or overseas trained.
  • PGCE in Business or Economics or degree level equivalent
  • Experience teaching Business and Economics at GCSE and A Level
  • Experience in a secondary school within the last two years
  • Excellent subject knowledge and passion for Business and Economics
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure or Overseas Police Clearances
  • Proven experience in collaborating with colleagues
  • Experience in departmental best practice and planning
