ASD Teacher

A Special SEN School based in South West London are seeking a Primary/SEN teacher from the September term.

About the School

The school cater for children aged from 2 to 11 years old with severe/profound and complex learning difficulties or an autistic spectrum disorder. A number of special and tailored approaches are used when appropriate to support work with pupils at the school and pupils benefit from working as a class group; they learn from each other to share attention to improve literacy and numeracy targets. The dedicated team of support staff also support in small groups or individually with each pupil to meet their individual needs.

The teachers work in close collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team to review pupil’s individual education plans every term. Short-term targets are listed in small steps towards the long-term targets agreed at annual reviews. These targets address the areas important for that child’s development, usually incorporating communication skills, cognitive development and/or personal and social education.

About you

  • Hold QTS (or overseas equivalent)
  • Be Primary or Secondary trained
  • ASD/SEN experience essential
  • Have a DBS (we can support with your application)

ASD Learning Mentor

£60 - £80 per day
ASD Learning Support Mentor A Primary School for children with ASD & Multiple Learning Difficulties, some of whom also have an additional diagnosis of autism based in Feltham are seeking an experienced ASD Learning Support Mentor full time and long term from September. About the school:There are two sites at this Special School, a Nursery and KS2 site. At Key Stage 2 pupils follow a curriculum that incorporates individual learning needs and offers a learning environment that is engaging and fun. The curriculum is topic focused and pupils engage in learning through exciting new themes, lessons are linked to the theme and support learning across all subject areas. Pupils in their assessment nursery, reception classes and through KS1 follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum The curriculum is implemented through both teacher led and child-initiated learning as appropriate for the needs of individual pupils. The EYFS curriculum offers a focus on the prime areas of learning, alongside continuous provision which promotes skills in the Prime and Specific areas through a play based approach.Enrichment days are planned half termly to enhance learning, through first hand experiences. Days are planned with a focused curriculum area in mind.
