Are you passionate about helping children who struggle with mental health and challenging behaviour within their education?

Horizon Teachers are working with a Pupil Referral Unit based in Redbridge, who are looking for an experienced and resilient Learning Support Assistant to join their team in supporting secondary-aged children on a long-term, full-time basis, starting after the half-term break until July 2024.

The school aims to support students who have been excluded or referred to them due to varying levels of social, emotional, and mental health needs, as well as behavioural difficulties and aims to offer them a fresh start by creating a safe and inspiring environment.

Due to the needs of the children that attend this school, it would be very desirable if you have previous experience working with children with behavioural needs and/or mental health needs. This will be a very rewarding role and will pay up to £550 per week.

Key attributes:

  • Experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH).
  • Confident in exercising student restraint techniques
  • Be able to support students with their academic and personal development.
