Horizon Teachers are working with a welcoming and well-established primary school in Enfield who are looking to appoint an experienced and organised Deputy Operations Manager to join their school leadership and operations team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced school operations, administration or business support professional who is looking to take the next step in their career!
The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the school, working closely with the Operations Manager, Headteacher and wider leadership team.

The ideal candidate will be highly organised, proactive and confident working across a busy school environment, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

Support the Operations Manager with the effective day-to-day running of the school.
Assist with the management and coordination of school administration, facilities and operational procedures.
Support the management of school premises, ensuring a safe, clean and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
Help manage operational budgets and maintain accurate financial and administrative records.
Support the line management and coordination of administrative, premises and support staff where appropriate.
Work closely with the Headteacher, Operations Manager and senior leadership team on school-wide projects and initiatives.
Provide operational support during busy periods and respond effectively to unexpected issues and challenges.
Help ensure the school complies with relevant legislation, policies and regulatory requirements.

About You
The successful candidate will be an experienced, organised and confident professional who can take ownership of the school’s operational requirements.

We are looking for someone who has:

Previous experience working in school operations, administration, business management or a similar environment.
Experience of working within a primary school or education setting is highly desirable.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Confidence working with staff, parents, contractors and external professionals.
Strong IT and administrative skills.
The ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a wider team.

From the start, Paul (Primary Team) and David (Secondary Team) have both been incredibly supportive, approachable, and professional, making the whole process smooth and reassuring.

I’ve been working with both a primary and a secondary consultant, and the communication between them has been excellent. They’ve always been available to answer questions and provide guidance whenever needed.

The support I received before starting my placement was especially helpful. My consultant gave me great insight into the school, which really helped me feel prepared and confident going in. I also completed their Teaching Assistant training, along with Safeguarding Level 1 and Level 2, which were both very informative and valuable.

A special thanks to David for checking in with me when things were a bit challenging — it really made a difference and showed genuine care and support.

Overall, I’ve felt well-supported throughout my journey so far and would definitely recommend their service to others.

My agency contact, Alexa, has been great at providing information, fixing any miscommunications and has personally chased after my timesheet approvals. I have already recommended Horizon to friends as well as a coworker who had problems with their own agency and I would definitely recommend Horizon again as a great agency for TA's.

They didn't prep me anything about the school other than where it is, the age group and department that I'll be in but, I'm sure if I had asked for more details they would have provided them without issue.
