We are looking for a Behaviour Mentor in North London to work in a primary school with an SEN Provision. The school are committed to providing an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all our students. The school community is built on a foundation of empathy, understanding, and the belief that every child deserves an excellent education tailored to their individual needs. As an SEN Teaching Assistant specializing in Autism Support, you will be an integral part of our dedicated team, supporting primary-aged students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in their educational journey. Your role will be crucial in promoting a positive and inclusive learning experience, allowing our students to thrive both academically and emotionally.

What you'll be doing:
  • Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement tailored learning plans and strategies for students with Autism.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with Autism in the classroom setting, assisting with academic tasks and promoting their engagement in learning activities.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment to encourage the social and emotional development of students with Autism.

What you'll need:
  • Previous experience working with primary-aged students with Autism is highly desirable.
  • A genuine passion for working in an educational setting and supporting the needs of children with special educational needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with students, teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability to cater to the diverse needs of students with Autism.
  • A relevant qualification in education or special educational needs is an advantage but not mandatory.
