5 Must Have Apps for Teachers

Whether you’re new to apps or absolutely swear by them, there’s an app out there to help every teacher – no matter what you’re after. From keeping organised through to lesson-planning and de-stressing, here are five apps that every teacher should have downloaded onto their phone:

App 1 - Wunderlist

Wunderlist is one of the top teacher apps for staying organised. It allows you to keep numerous to-do lists all in one place across devices and create time alerts. It also allows you to connect with other users, so if you are working on a project you can share a list. The best bit, a tiny reminder gets sent through each time. This app will definitely keep you on top of your workload!

App 2 - Evernote

Evernote is one of the most popular note-taking apps currently available. It lets you work smarter, as you can add links, checklists, tables, attachments and even audio recordings to your notes. There also other cool features such as being able to annotate PDF documents, as well as taking notes with photos and videos. You can use it on your iPad, android phone, iPhone or PC and sync them all so that you can access your notes whenever you need to.

App 3 - Teach Learn Lead

Teach Learn Lead describes itself as “A Professional Learning Community for New Teachers”. If you ever wished there was a Facebook just for Teachers, this is the app for you. Teach Learn Lead allows you to connect with fellow teachers from all over the world. You can then start discussions, create polls as well as share lesson plan ideas and career ideas. This app is ideal for teachers who are seeking support and collaboration.

App 4 - Videoscribe

VideoScribe is the leading whiteboard animation software out there. It is a great little app that lets you create animations that draw themselves. Given the popularity of video on social media and the vast number of hours we watch video on a daily basis, it could help you improve class engagement. Some schools have used this for their attendance videos for assembly and for creating short how-to movies to share with others. The possibilities are endless!

App 5 - Headspace

Headspace offers guided meditation and mindfulness in a really easy to use app. It lets you start off with a free basics pack, which takes you through a 10 day course of meditation and mindfulness designed especially for beginners. Meditation has been proven to help people reduce stress in their lives, as well as improve concentration and sleep. If you’re trying to find more ways to combat stress, this is the app for you.
